Following continuous communication, Philips Respironics agreed in October 2023 to the FDA's recommendations for additional testing on sleep and respiratory care devices to complement existing data. Discussions with the FDA regarding the specifics of further testing are ongoing.

Throughout the testing and research program, Philips Respironics has collaborated closely with the FDA and provided regular updates as per the agreed schedule.  

Additionally, 13 epidemiological studies, conducted independently of Philips Respironics, found no link between the use of PAP devices, including those by Philips Respironics, and an increased risk of cancer in patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
