Philips Respironics, along with five independent certified testing labs and third-party experts, has been conducting thorough testing since June 2021. Based on the findings so far, both Philips Respironics and the third-party experts concluded that the use of sleep therapy devices is not expected to cause significant harm to patients' health. However, ongoing testing related to sleep therapy and ventilator devices is still in progress. Following continuous communication, Philips Respironics agreed in October 2023 to the FDA's recommendations for additional testing on sleep and respiratory care devices to complement existing data. Discussions with the FDA regarding the specifics of further testing are ongoing.

Throughout the testing and research program, Philips Respironics has collaborated closely with the FDA and provided regular updates as per the agreed schedule.  

Additionally, 13 epidemiological studies, conducted independently of Philips Respironics, found no link between the use of PAP devices, including those by Philips Respironics, and an increased risk of cancer in patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
