Description
The Mallinckrodt Evac Cuffed Endotracheal Tube is equipped with Taperguard technology. These low-Impact and low-pressure endotracheal tube is equipped with features that may help reduce the tracheal impact of intubation. It is manufactured with a unique, taper-shaped cuff design that provides a smaller area of contact with the patient’s airway than traditional barrel-shaped cuffs. The taperguard technology exerts 29% less pressure on the trachea and reduces intracuff pressure required to obtain an adequate seal compared to Mallinckrodt Hi-Lo cuffs. It provides more uniform pressure distribution than Mallinckrodt Hi-Lo cuffs at equivalent intracuff pressures. It reduces microaspiration by as much as 90% compared to Mallinckrodt Hi-Lo cuffs. These taperguard evac oral tracheal tube is sterile and is meant for single patient use only. They come in a standard packing of 10 units per box.
